BRAZILIAN JASMINE

These are vining plants native to Brazil, hardy in zone 9 to 11. They thrive in warm, tropical environments, and bloom small trumpet like flowers. They can grow up to ten feet each season and need proper care for good development. Too much sun can burn them, so make sure to place them in an area where they can get adequate shade, and water them so they’re soaked through the roots whenever their leaves start to look a little droopy. Use a phosphorus based fertilizer in a 10-20-10 during the growing season.

SWEET OLIVE OSMANTHUS

Hardy in zones 8 to 10, these shrubs are native to Asia and can grow up to thirty feet tall. They have incredibly fragrant small white flowers that bloom from fall through winter. Make sure the top three inches of the soil are dry before watering, and well draining soil is best. Place them in a location with full sun and partial shade. Fertilize once every two years during the fall with a dry, well balanced fertilizer to encourage lush growth

CECILE BRUNNER ROSE

Brunner rose are deciduous plants native to France, and make excellent additions to a garden in hardiness zones 4 to 11. As a climbing rose, they like to cover fences and trellises. They require at least eight hours of full sunlight a day and plenty of regular watering when young. Mix in organic material into the soil and mulch the flower beds to discourage weeds and keep the roots hydrated for hot summers. Make sure the soil is dry about an inch deep before watering again.

BOUGAINVILLEA

We carry bougainvillea in both purple and gold. Their toughness makes for great hedges or bushes in hardy zones 9b to 10. They require full sunlight and infrequent watering, with peat moss mixed into the soil to retain moisture. Although be sure not to mix in too much, or the plant will get root rot. When in containers they require good drainage, and just enough room so their roots can sit comfortably in the pot.

ARABIAN JASMINE

Arabian Jasmine are evergreen shrubs native to southeast Asia in hardiness zones 9 to 10. They have white, fragrant flowers the bloom most often at night. They require partial to full sun and should be watered weekly, sometimes more during intense heat. They bloom from summer to fall and year round in warmer areas. They can grow up to eight feet tall. We carry the Sambac, Maid of Orleans and Grand Duke of Tuscany varieties.

PASSION FLOWER

Native to South and Central America, these tropical vines are hardy to zones 7 to 10. They need full sun and well draining soil, as well as applying a balanced fertilizer once in early spring and again in midsummer. Water them thoroughly once or twice a week and give them full to partial sun. Provide a fence or trellis for them to spread their tendrils on, as they are fast growers. The fruit produced is edible. We carry the Maypop, Purple, Lady Margaret, and Blue and White varieties.

SNOW ROSE SERISSA

These are low growing bushes that are common for hedges in hardiness zones 7 to 11. Their flowers are tiny and white, and make for excellent indoor bonsai. They require at least six hours of full sunlight a day and partial shade. Mix high amounts of organic material into the soil to help retain moisture. Water when the surface of the soil feels dry. They require high humidity, so mist them lightly whenever the leaves feel too dry. Feed them a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every two weeks during spring through fall.
